Stripe confirmed on September 8 that Meta built its new personal AI agent Muse on top of Link, Stripe's checkout wallet with more than 300 million users globally, letting a US consumer connect a Link account to Muse and have the assistant buy from businesses across the internet. At more than 1 million businesses that accept Link, Stripe says Muse can check out instantly using the payment method saved in a user's Link account; for other merchants, Link issues Muse a single-use virtual card scoped to the approved purchase, so the agent does not get the real card number. The buyer still has to approve the transaction total in the chat interface, per Stripe's newsroom post. Stripe's April launch post for Link's wallet for agents said each request needs a person's review before the payment credential is shared, with plans to expand controls later, including spending limits and cases where agents could act without fresh approval. Stripe's Muse announcement says Link's agent wallet also helps power payments for xAI's Grok Bot, which a KuCoin flash item crediting CryptoBriefing reported on August 28 used single-use virtual cards or tokens with approval required before money moved, with access tied to subscribers paying $200 a month or more.
