How Voices for Games pays voice actors for AI versions of their voice…

Voices for Games is a new AI voice platform from the voiceover company Voices that pays professional voice actors when their voices are used, using a consent-and-licensing model rather than a scraped-data or cloned-voice model, according to CTO Dheeraj (DJ) Jalali in an interview with GamesBeat. The platform is a fully licensed, end-to-end character voice offering delivered as two purpose-built solutions, with a real performer underneath every voice. Companies like Supercell, which makes Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars, use this technology to create voices for its games and ensure human voice actors get paid when their voices are used. Martin Schjøler, sound designer at Supercell, said the company has long used Voices for traditional voice talent casting but does not yet use Voices for Games. Jalali believes the future of interaction with AI will be through voice, stating, "People are going to talk to an agent... and they are going to respond back."
