Anthropic has signed supply agreements with South Korean semiconductor leaders Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, CEO Dario Amodei announced during an AI summit in South Korea. Amodei did not disclose details about the agreement, including the products involved, financial terms, or the duration of the deals. Earlier this year, Anthropic also identified Samsung, SK hynix, and Micron as strategic technology partners supporting its growing AI ecosystem. While the exact components remain unknown, industry observers believe the partnerships could involve advanced memory technologies such as High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), storage solutions, or other semiconductor products essential for AI workloads. Reports have also suggested that Anthropic is exploring the development of its own AI chips to reduce reliance on third-party suppliers like Nvidia and AMD, though the company has not officially confirmed these plans, stating only that it continues to evaluate a range of computing options while maintaining a diversified hardware strategy.
