Digital Equity Africa has launched its flagship international learning programme, the “Live in the Future” AI and Innovation Immersion Summer Camp in Shenzhen, China, aimed at exposing young Africans to cutting-edge technologies. The initiative will see a select group of 30 participants aged between five and 17 years travel to Shenzhen for an intensive learning experience focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, smart manufacturing, emerging technologies and innovation. The programme is designed to give participants direct exposure to real-world applications of technology beyond traditional classroom learning. Participants will visit leading robotics companies, AI laboratories, innovation centres, technology parks, research institutions and advanced manufacturing facilities. Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Digital Equity Africa, Justina Oha, said the initiative is part of a broader effort to equip young Africans with the skills, knowledge and exposure needed to thrive in the global digital economy. “The future cannot be taught solely through textbooks. It must be experienced,” Oha said.
