LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo is expected to visit Silicon Valley next week to meet with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, approximately two months after their first official meeting at the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, last June. According to industry sources on the 6th, the two companies are expected to finalize concrete plans to strengthen cooperation in business sectors such as robots and autonomous vehicles. The business community believes the upcoming meeting in the U.S. will mark the stage of finalizing investment scales, technology development schedules, and the roles of each affiliate. If strengthened cooperation materializes, LG Group could expand its physical AI business, connecting home appliances, automotive electronics, batteries, telecommunications, and data centers, while NVIDIA could utilize Korean manufacturing sites as a large-scale testing ground for its robot and AI platforms. The main agenda is expected to be the development of humanoid robots. LG Electronics is developing the home robot 'LG Cloid' and is pursuing plans to train the robot in a virtual space using NVIDIA's Isaac, Groot, and Cosmos, and then deploy it in real-world environments. Discussions may also take place regarding transforming LG's global production facilities into digital twin-based AI factories by integrating NVIDIA's automotive computing platform with LG Electronics' automotive solutions and LG Innotek's camera and sensing technologies, while utilizing NVIDIA's Omniverse.
