SAP and IBM Say AI-Ready ERP Still Starts with Trusted Infrastructure

SAP and IBM announced on July 2 that JYSK, GBM, DIFARE Group, and Plastilene Group have selected SAP Cloud ERP Private on IBM Power Virtual Server to modernize their ERP workloads in secure, scalable cloud environments. The customer list spans retail, technology services, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing. SAP and IBM are turning ERP infrastructure into part of the AI readiness conversation, as enterprises cannot unlock agentic workflows, embedded AI, or real-time analytics if the underlying ERP platform remains too fragile or fragmented to migrate safely. SAP Cloud ERP Private on IBM Power Virtual Server gives organizations a migration path that preserves the resilience, performance, and security of on-premises IBM Power environments while moving workloads into a private cloud foundation. As SAP and IBM expand their agentic AI collaboration around Agent2Agent interoperability, the infrastructure layer becomes a control boundary for agents working across finance, supply chain, and procurement workflows. SAP said the platform can help customers reduce total ownership cost through more granular scaling, support hybrid and multicloud deployments, and reduce operational and security risk through IBM Power and IBM Cloud capabilities.
