Yelp and OpenAI are deepening their partnership to bring Yelp Reservations and Waitlist directly to ChatGPT, allowing users to book a table or join a waitlist without leaving their conversation. The integration works with restaurants in the US and Canada. While users can make adjustments to their reservation after booking, modifications must be made directly on Yelp. Yelp stated, “By bringing Yelp’s trusted booking capabilities directly into the ChatGPT experience, we’re helping people go from finding the right restaurant to easily securing their spot.” Additionally, OpenAI has revealed partnerships with Resy and OpenTable for the same purpose of providing booking and waitlist services. This follows a previous partnership between OpenAI and Yelp that enabled the chatbot to surface reviews, photos, ratings, and other business details for local recommendations.
