Flex and Cerebras Systems (NASDAQ: CBRS) announced an expanded manufacturing partnership on July 9, 2026, to scale production of the Cerebras CS-3 AI accelerator system at Flex's facilities in Milpitas, California. The expanded operation is expected to increase CS-3 production capacity by approximately seven times through 2026, supported by new assembly and integration lines, expanded floor space, advanced test infrastructure, and additional manufacturing personnel. The CS-3 is built on a wafer-scale engine architecture and incorporates liquid cooling, high-density power delivery, precision mechanical assembly, and networking infrastructure. Dhiraj Mallick, COO of Cerebras, stated that scaling production requires an extraordinary manufacturing partner, while Rob Campbell, President of Communication, Enterprise and Cloud at Flex, noted deep collaboration between engineering teams. Production operations include precision mechanical assembly, high-power electrical integration, liquid cooling installation, optical networking validation, and full-rack system qualification. The expansion is also expected to create high-skilled manufacturing roles in the region.
