At a June 30 event in Shenzhen, UBTECH introduced the UWORLD U1 series, presented as the first humanoid robots built for mass production and everyday consumer use. The robots have silicone skin with pores, veins, and fingerprints. Male units stand 183cm tall and weigh 42kg, while female units are 168cm and 35.2kg. Each bot has 88 degrees of freedom, enabling them to sit, lean, lie back, and give a gentle hug. UBTECH created an emotion-aware language model that detects facial emotions, body posture, voice tone, and speech context, detecting approximately 20 different emotional states with an accuracy of more than 90%. The system provides a local response in less than 500 milliseconds and a deeper reasoning level for thoughtful responses. Lip movements are synchronized with speech. The robot records all interactions in encrypted form on a local device, with a Rockchip RK3588 chip handling most processing, and includes three layers of privacy protection. No wake word is required to start a conversation.
