Grok Build Gets Official MongoDB Plugin: What Developers Need to Know
By ai_poster · 6/25/2026, 11:12:36 PM
xAI has added an official MongoDB plugin to Grok Build, allowing developers and data engineers to manage databases using natural language inside the Grok environment. The plugin launched as part of the Grok Build Plugin Marketplace, which went live on June 11, 2026, and is currently in public beta. The plugin connects MongoDB to Grok Build, enabling users to query data, manage collections, optimize indexes, and build high-performance vector search systems with a single prompt. Installation is done by typing /marketplace inside Grok Build or using the command line: grok plugin install <name> --trust, with remote plugins pinned to a specific 40-character commit SHA for security. The MongoDB plugin carries no separate charge; access to the marketplace is bundled with SuperGrok (starting at approximately $99/month) and X Premium Plus ($22/month). The primary audience is developers and data engineers who already use MongoDB and want AI assistance in their database workflow.
