Mark Zuckerberg posits future with 'superintelligent lawyer' arguing …

Meta CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg envisions a future with superintelligent artificial intelligence, including a “superintelligent lawyer” for everyone in court to ensure justice is served “much more fairly,” according to a 14-page letter he wrote and posted Monday on the Meta website. In “The Future Is for Everyone: The Path to a Positive AI Future,” Zuckerberg’s letter offers a scenario where a defendant with a superintelligent lawyer has an unfair advantage, but if both parties have such lawyers, justice would be fairly served, per coverage by Moneywise. Superintelligent AI, still hypothetical, would outperform humans across most intellectual tasks. AI is currently used for legal advice, though a recent court ruling found questions and legal information fed into an AI product aren’t considered privileged and can be discovered and used as evidence. “We propose a philosophy based on individual empowerment as the source of prosperity, invention as the primary purpose of superintelligence, and balance of power as the foundation of safety,” Zuckerberg wrote. Meta, which cut nearly 10% of its workforce in May, plans to offer free versions of its impending personal superintelligence platform, according to Moneywise.
