Apple has agreed to pay $250 million to settle a class-action lawsuit over the delayed launch of an AI-enhanced Siri, and the settlement website is now live, with claims accepted until Dec. 21. The lawsuit, filed in March 2025, accused Apple of failing to deliver Apple Intelligence-powered Siri features promised with the iPhone 16 in 2024, including drawing on a user's personal context for personalized responses and taking actions across Apple and third-party apps; many of these features are now rolling out in iOS 27 with Siri AI. Apple denied any wrongdoing but agreed to settle. The settlement applies to those who purchased an iPhone in the US after Apple first advertised the Siri AI features after WWDC 2024, from June 10, 2024, through March 29, 2025, covering the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and every iPhone 16 model: iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Claims can be filed at smartphoneaisettlement.com, requiring personal information and an iPhone serial number, or an Apple Account and phone number if the serial number is not included. The final approval hearing is scheduled for Feb. 24, 2027, so payouts aren't expected until next year; the lawsuit estimates around $25 per person, rising to a maximum of $95 if fewer claimants sign up.
