George Lucas, the 82-year-old creator of *Star Wars*, recently endorsed AI in filmmaking, stating, “Artificial intelligence means it’s much easier for us to make movies.” Speaking with *A Rabbit’s Foot*, Lucas compared resistance to AI to opposing cars in favor of horse-drawn buggies, adding, “That’s progress, it’s the future.” He acknowledged risks but defended AI, saying it can provide solutions humans cannot figure out, such as identifying fakes: “If you want AI that tells you when something is fake and where it came from, AI can do that.” Lucas emphasized human responsibility, stating, “you’re a human being, you’re responsible for what you say and what you do.” His comments come days after an AI “actress” named Tilly Norwood, created by Particle 6, was confirmed to star in her own full-length movie titled *Misaligned*. Particle 6’s CEO argued that the film exemplifies filmmaking involving both AI and humans, noting, “AI can support premium narrative filmmaking, but only with substantial amounts of human craft, skill, judgment, and time.”
