Google Chrome Introduces Select from Screen AI Feature to Enable Inst…

Google has introduced a new AI feature, 'Select from Screen', in Google Chrome, enabling users to select any text, photo, or specific part of the screen and ask questions directly to Gemini AI without retyping. To use it, one opens the 'Ask Gemini' option in Chrome and selects 'Select from Screen' from the '+' menu, then creates a box around the desired area to ask questions. Gemini analyzes the selection and provides relevant answers or explanations. The feature works on desktop similarly to the 'Circle to Search' feature on mobile and is useful for tasks like comparing products, understanding charts, or analyzing web page information. Currently, it is being gradually made available in Chrome version 149; some users may see it after restarting the browser. The feature does not work in Incognito Mode, and a Google account must be signed in to use Gemini.
