The "Magnificent 7" tech stocks (Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, and Tesla) are showing mixed results as investors shift focus from AI investment size to monetization and Free Cash Flow (FCF). Microsoft is the highest rated, recording an "earnings surprise" with sales of $907 billion in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026, up 18% year-on-year. Azure sales surged 43%, and annual sales exceeded $100 billion, causing shares to jump about 15% on the 30th of last month. Amazon is also considered a winner, with second-quarter sales of USD 2006 billion, up 20% year-on-year. AWS sales were $42.2 billion, up 37%, the highest growth in 18 quarters, and CAPEX outlook was raised to $220 billion. Meta and Alphabet face growing questions about the sustainability of their massive AI investments. Alphabet's stock plunged 7% the day after its second-quarter earnings on the 22nd of last month. Apple underwent the most dramatic valuation change, regaining the "world's No. 1 market capitalization" from Nvidia last month by stepping back from the AI competition, but its mood changed after its second-quarter earnings announcement, which exceeded expectations but failed to provide a clear AI strategy.
