Nexar and Nauto have agreed to merge, combining two of the fleet industry's largest sources of real-world driving data to strengthen AI-powered safety, risk management, and operational intelligence. The combined company will draw on more than 10 billion miles of historical driving data while adding more than 300 million real-world miles each month across more than 50 countries, which the companies say will improve the accuracy of AI models used by fleets, insurers, automakers, and autonomous vehicle developers. Stefan Heck, Nauto's founder and CEO, stated the merger delivers "scale and context," enabling AI models to recognize patterns and predict outcomes with greater confidence. Heck noted fleets should benefit from expanded data and additional models like BADAS and Atlas. Nexar CEO Zach Greenberger will lead the combined company as CEO, while Heck will serve as chairman of the board. The merger combines Nexar's network, which captures more than 100 million miles of driving each month and covers 94% of U.S. roads, with Nauto's AI-powered fleet safety platform used by more than 1,000 commercial fleets worldwide. Existing customers will continue using current products while gaining access to broader datasets and more predictive AI capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions.
