Microsoft has introduced a new "Wrap up your day" feature in New Outlook for Windows and Android that brings Copilot directly to the inbox. The feature summarizes emails from the day and plans for tomorrow based on events or meetings. When clicked, it opens Copilot in the right sidebar with a prompt instructing it to create an executive and concise evening Inbox Brief for emails in Inbox (Focused and Other) and Sent from the last 8 hours only, organize the answer around what you accomplished today, the top three things to focus on based on urgency Copilot detected across your inboxes, and the top three priorities for tomorrow. The prompt also tells AI to conclude with a "motivational phrase acknowledging progress." The author notes Copilot did not ask permission before reading inbox, sent emails, and other folders, and the summary was not exactly useful. No specific toggle exists to turn off the "Wrap up" alerts, and turning off Copilot in Outlook Settings did not stop the alerts from reappearing the next day. Options include downgrading to a Microsoft 365 plan without Copilot or switching to Outlook Classic, which does not have Copilot-powered Wrap up alerts. The author also mentions the Copilot button next to the compose button on Android, which they almost always accidentally clicked due to muscle memory.
