On August 6, KT announced it has expanded its "AI-based real-time spam blocking service" to all customers. The service was developed in January and piloted with 800,000 customers who set smart blocking sensitivity to "high" in the app. It was expanded to all customers, including MVNO users, starting July 29, and is available free of charge. As of August 3, monitoring showed a false positive rate of 0.003% and zero voice of customer inquiries, while the total number of spam blocks increased by 3.5%. KT will launch a new "real-time spam block notification service" this month, informing customers of spam blocks in real time. Choi Seun, Senior Vice President and Head of Customer Strategy Division at KT's Customer Group, said the feature was developed under the Customer Protection 365 Task Force to provide real-time protection against spam and digital crime, and KT will continue updating the service and advancing AI detection technology.
