Google’s revamped Gemini design for Wear OS, revealed with Wear OS 7, is finally rolling out. The assistant now uses a new overlay design based on Neural Expressive, the same visual language Gemini uses on Android phones and tablets, to create consistency across screens. Previously, activating Gemini on a Pixel Watch meant opening the full app, which took over the entire screen. Now, Gemini appears as an overlay on top of the current watch face, featuring the same Neural Expressive background, spark icon, and greeting used elsewhere. Play Store screenshots show a live transcript of user requests and confirmations after actions are completed. This change makes the exchange feel more like a conversation. Cross-device consistency makes Gemini feel like one assistant across watch and phone. The overlay appears to be rolling out to some watches, and Pixel Watch 4 owners should monitor Play Store updates.
