Elon Musk stated that Tesla Inc.'s Optimus Humanoid robot and Artificial Intelligence efforts will enable accessible healthcare for all, posting on X that "AI+Optimus will enable universal excellent healthcare that is better than anyone receives today." Musk quoted a post by influencer Peter Diamandis, who shared a clip of Musk discussing how humanoid robots with "very high dexterity" could provide "access to better medical care than the richest person on Earth." Musk recently announced that the Fremont, California facility had transitioned to produce Optimus units, and Tesla's VP of Vehicle Engineering, Lars Moravy, said the company would have as many as 40 production lines to produce the robot at scale. Separately, investor Cathie Wood-led ARK Invest shared insights, stating that the technology should "create new jobs" and that "US labor productivity has compounded at ~2.1% annually since the commercial tractor's debut." ARK noted that "a humanoid robot is 200,000 times more complex than a robotaxi" and that an investment of approximately $50 billion in compute was needed to reach "human-level task proficiency," adding that "Tesla's Optimus could approach that threshold around 2028."
