An elderly man from Ludhiana, Chaman Lal of Fatehgarh Gujran, became separated from his companions after travelling to Amritsar's Golden Temple on 11 September under the Punjab Chief Minister's Pilgrimage Scheme. He accidentally boarded a train bound for Bihar without a ticket and got off at Gaya railway station, where a local youth, Neeraj, found him wandering. Chaman Lal could remember only the name of his village, so Neeraj took him home and kept him there for four days while trying to trace his family. Neeraj first tried Google Maps but could not find the village, then sought help from ChatGPT, which helped identify the location. On Saturday, Neeraj brought the elderly man back to his family in Ludhiana. His grandson, Sukhchain Singh, became so emotional that he fell at the Bihar youth's feet. Chaman Lal's family had filed a police complaint, and his grandson had continued searching in Amritsar after the other pilgrims returned home. Residents had posted his photograph on social media, and after around 8 days there was still no trace of him.
