Google announced in a Thursday blog post the launch of a Gemini app for Windows, a long-requested tool. Users on a Windows laptop or PC can call up Gemini with a keyboard shortcut, pressing Alt + Space at any time to open Gemini over their active work, according to the blog post. Google says users can use the app to run Gemini Spark, connect other Google apps such as Gmail and Drive, and create AI-generated images and videos. To download it, users can head to gemini.google/desktop and click "Download for Windows," then follow the prompts and install the program like any other. Google says the app will be available for all Windows 10 and 11 users, and will be updated with additional capabilities in the future. The company may not have news to share about the missing Gemini 3.5 Pro, the next-gen AI model originally scheduled to be released in June, but the Windows app serves as a consolation prize for Windows users.
