xAI has expanded access to its flagship Grok 4.5 artificial intelligence model across grok.com, X, and its dedicated iOS and Android applications, now serving as the default model across consumer and mobile platforms. Developed to handle practical, multi-step tasks, Grok 4.5 aims to provide faster responses, maintain context during long conversations, and complete complex instructions with fewer follow-up prompts. It can summarise lengthy PDF documents, create multi-sheet Excel workbooks with working mathematical formulas, and turn plain-text outlines into structured presentations. xAI has added native Microsoft 365 integrations for Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Grok 4.5 supports programming languages including C++ and Rust. Elon Musk described Grok 4.5 as an “Opus-class model,” comparing its problem-solving abilities with Anthropic’s Claude Opus family while claiming faster processing speeds. xAI says Grok 4.5 provides twice the token efficiency of competing architectures. Pricing is set at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens. Grok 4.5 is now available globally, but users in the European Union cannot currently access the model as xAI works through regional regulatory requirements.
