Nvidia confirmed on November 3rd an investment of 1,341.2 billion won (approximately $1 billion) in Naver, a leading South Korean technology company, acquiring a 4.13% stake. According to information from Naver, Nvidia will purchase 6,558,435 newly issued shares at a price of 204,500 won per share, with the transaction expected to be completed on November 6th. Compared to initial estimates, the investment value converted to won decreased by approximately 139.7 billion won, while the number of newly issued shares decreased by approximately 680,000 shares, an adjustment primarily due to exchange rate fluctuations, while the total investment value in USD remains unchanged at $1 billion. The investment is part of a collaborative project between Naver and Nvidia to build global artificial intelligence (AI) factories, under which Naver is responsible for building and operating data centers while Nvidia provides graphics processing units (GPUs) to support computing and AI infrastructure operations. The agreement is expected to contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two corporations in the field of AI infrastructure and to promoting South Korea's capacity to develop and provide AI services.
