Arrakis Security, an Israeli cybersecurity startup founded by Tal Baron, Omer Efrat and Ron Shani, veterans of Torq and Palantir, has raised $8 million in Seed funding to build a platform that monitors and governs the behavior of enterprise AI agents. The round was led by Hetz Ventures and included investments from Mati Staniszewski, CEO of ElevenLabs; Ofer Smadari, CEO of Torq; Amitai Ratzzon, founder and CEO of Pentera; and several senior executives from Palantir Technologies. The company argues that traditional cybersecurity tools were designed for human users, not autonomous systems that can access sensitive data, execute workflows and make decisions without direct supervision. Arrakis highlights a “visibility illusion,” where companies know an AI agent exists but lack detailed understanding of its actions, permissions, policy compliance and when behavior turns into a security risk. Its platform discovers AI agents, creates behavioral profiles, monitors activities in real time and detects deviations from expected patterns across SaaS platforms, cloud infrastructure, business applications and internal workflows. The company currently employs around 20 people, and the funding will expand research, development and product teams in Israel, strengthen detection and response capabilities, and accelerate deployments among organizations adopting AI agents.
