Nomagic, a company with European headquarters in Warsaw, Poland, and U.S. headquarters in Sandy Springs, Georgia, has announced the deployment of its first vision-language-action (VLA) model to paying customers, claiming to be among the first companies to run VLAs in a live production environment. The AI research lab, created earlier this year and led by former Google DeepMind robotics researcher Markus Wulfmeier, who now serves as Nomagic’s chief scientist, developed the model. By targeting the most common “edge cases” for its warehouse robots, Nomagic says it has roughly halved the rate of robot-caused interventions in live operations. The first VLA deployment is with Brack.Alltron, Switzerland’s second-largest e-commerce platform, which uses Nomagic’s robots for order picking and packing. Roland Brack, the company’s founder and owner, said the addition of Nomagic’s VLA systems marked a step change, noting that the robots “truly understand their environment” and allow autonomous shifts through nights and Sundays.
