The new creator economy SEO: Can influencers in India game AI to win …

Before brands open influencer marketing platforms or consult agencies, marketing teams increasingly first ask AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity broad questions such as "Who are India's top fintech creators?" or "Which sustainability influencers are credible?" According to Neel Gogia, Co-founder and CEO of IPLIX Media, brands are "not yet" relying on AI to shortlist creators because AI systems still struggle to understand video content at scale, but AI discoverability represents an untapped opportunity. AI relies on publicly available information—articles, interviews, trusted publications, rankings—rather than platform engagement metrics, making earned media and website authority more valuable than raw audience size for AI visibility. Ritesh Ujjwal, Co-founder of Kofluence, says media planners are increasingly querying LLMs before campaign briefs, partially forming the initial creator consideration set before any platform is opened. The strongest shift is visible among finance, technology and business creators, who are investing in updated press pages, accurate Wikipedia entries, structured LinkedIn profiles and content archives that consistently reinforce a single area of expertise.
