A study released today by 5W AI Communications, the Neobanks AI Visibility Index, reveals that AI assistants are creating new digital borders for global banking brands. Analyzing 31,500 prompts across platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, the report found that Nubank, which serves over 110 million customers and commands 55% of AI visibility in Latin America, is functionally invisible in the United States. The index shows no global winner in neobanking AI visibility; instead, regional champions dominate specific territories. In the United Kingdom, Monzo captures approximately 37% of AI citation share; in the European mainland, Revolut leads with around 40%; and in the United States, Chime secures nearly 35% of AI mentions. Each leader is at or near the discoverability floor in every market outside its home geography. Within the U.S., Chime over-indexes by 14 points in the Sun Belt, capturing 42% of AI mindshare in states like Texas and Florida, while its share drops to 28% in the Northeast. Competitor SoFi is twice as visible in the Northeast (22%) as in the Sun Belt (11%). The report was released in Miami, FL on June 25, 2026.
