On September 15, 2026, Ambarella and ZEDEDA announced a partnership pairing ZEDEDA’s open-source EVE-OS with Ambarella’s N1 family of edge generative AI chips, starting with the N1-655. ZEDEDA’s EVE-OS, governed by the Linux Foundation’s LF Edge project, now runs natively on Ambarella’s N1 family, with the N1-655 as the first validated target. The ZEDEDA Edge Intelligence Platform provides a cloud-hosted control plane for deploying, updating, securing, and monitoring AI models across distributed hardware. The companies frame the combination as infrastructure for cameras, robots, vehicles, industrial systems, and other edge appliances. Developer kits with EVE-OS pre-installed on Ambarella silicon are scheduled to reach Ambarella’s Developer Zone, or DevZone, in Q4 2026. The same week, Ambarella expanded DevZone with a cloud-hosted IDE and remote access to live silicon for agentic AI development on Google Cloud Platform. The announcement comes as Ambarella’s year-over-year growth decelerated from 49.9% to 13.2%, while ZEDEDA has raised more than $129 million in venture funding without an IPO in sight.
