Elon Musk criticized Anthropic chief Dario Amodei for warning the public about the risks of the company’s AI model Mythos while also planning to release it, saying the messaging has unnecessarily alarmed people. Speaking in an interview with The Economist, excerpts of which were later shared on X, Musk said Amodei had only himself to blame. “Dario did dig his own grave here regarding Mythos because he said, ‘Mythos is super scary, terrifying also,” Musk stated. He agreed that AI disruption would be a bumpy road for many jobs and predicted AI would soon outperform humans at nearly all digital tasks. Musk also distinguished his views on Amodei from those on Sam Altman.
