The In Lab has launched 'Homi,' an AI roommate app that consolidates scattered life records into one platform, officially released on July 24. Available on iOS and Android with a two-week free trial, Homi manages tasks, schedules, routines, medication, household accounts, and diaries on a single screen. Users can view daily plans, execution results, expenses, and emotional records without switching between apps, and examine relationships between schedules, spending, and lifestyle habits. The app features eight self-learned AI characters with distinct personalities that initiate conversation and respond through facial expressions and movements using Rive-based motion design. Homi’s growth system categorizes user activities into six indicators: self-development, physical strength, planning ability, mental strength, self, and execution ability. Activities such as conversations with AI, completing missions, and managing household accounts are reflected in these indicators, with accumulated records credited as 'growth energy.' This growth energy can be used for actual subscription fee discounts, lowering fees as user activity increases, unlike typical billing structures where costs rise with more AI usage. An official from The In Research Institute stated the design aims to motivate users to maintain lifestyle management habits by returning activity as benefits, contrasting with typical AI services where fees increase based on usage.
