Meta has announced its Muse Image visual creation and remix option, utilizing advanced AI-powered reasoning from its Superintelligence Labs, which has spent billions of dollars and recruited top-tier talent, with hundreds of billions of dollars invested into AI infrastructure. The tool can, among other things, “place your pet in a famous painting.” Meta said the model powers new creative tools across its apps, including “more than 30 new AI-powered effects for Instagram Stories” and the ability to generate images in direct chats with Meta AI on WhatsApp, starting in limited countries. Meta also highlighted that users can “@-mention Instagram accounts in the Meta AI app to bring specific Instagram profiles right into your images.” As reported by Wired, Meta added capacity for people to remix any public image on Instagram, and users will have to explicitly opt-out if they do not want their content used in AI depictions. Just last month, Meta Superintelligence Chief Alexandr Wang said in an interview that user experiences “are not overwhelmingly better” as a result of AI implementation, and that Meta must build more valuable tools to improve public sentiment.
