Google's Gemini app has reached 950 million monthly active users, with daily active users tripling over the past year, CEO Sundar Pichai announced in a July 23 blog post. Pichai attributed the surge to new AI-powered features like Daily Brief and the personalised Gemini Spark assistant, which is live in the US and several international markets. Google's AI Mode, part of its AI-powered Search experience, has crossed 1 billion monthly active users globally since its wider rollout last October, driving billions of clicks to external websites weekly. Google recently launched Gemini 3.6 Flash, Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite, and Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, with work begun on the next-generation Gemini 4 model. Over 9 million developers now build applications monthly using Google's AI models, with API usage processing 22 billion tokens per minute, up from 16 billion tokens per minute in the previous quarter. Nearly 90 per cent of Fortune 100 companies use Gemini Enterprise, contributing to Google Cloud revenue surging 82 per cent year-on-year and a cloud business backlog of $514 billion. Alphabet reported 24 per cent year-on-year revenue growth, with AI investments reshaping Search, YouTube, Cloud, and developer platforms.
