Orange chief AI officer Steve Jarrett is headed to Anthropic and will be based in Paris as part of the AI player’s expansion across Europe. Jarrett posted on LinkedIn yesterday (25 June) his job at Anthropic starts 25 August, initially tasked with helping the company to better adapt its products to the needs of the European and African market. Orange announced on 24 June Usman Javaid is replacing Jarrett as its AI chief. Bloomberg reported the same day two leading AI researchers from Google plan to join Anthropic: Jonas Adler and Alexander Pritzel, key contributors to Google’s Gemini AI model. On 19 June, Google DeepMind VP and Nobel Prize winner John Jumper announced on X he is also joining Anthropic. The new hires follow Anthropic confidentially submitting paperwork on 1 June for a proposed initial public listing. As part of its expansion plans, CNBC reported yesterday (25 June) Anthropic is expanding its compute team, with eight of the 13 open jobs based in Australia or Japan. Anthropic’s annualised revenue run-rate reportedly reached $47 billion.
