In a time dominated by large language models, FORMAS.AI, co-founded by Yiping Goh, aims to address the disconnect between aesthetic renders and structural reality in architecture. The built environment commands thirteen per cent of global gross domestic product but is slow to adopt technology. Instead of building another monolithic model, the company operates as an orchestrator of roughly 60 distinct models within a single design pipeline, allowing a conceptual sketch to evolve into buildable data. Goh explained that the defining pivot was choosing to build an orchestrator rather than a model, despite incentives rewarding training proprietary models, reselling LLMs, or shipping AI image tools. She noted that companies reach unicorn status as image or video models or as resellers, and even sophisticated investors rarely examine what is underneath. The company’s approach earned Goh a spot on this year’s Power List under the theme A New Form.
