Governor-elect Lee Won-taeg of Jeonbuk proposed a "samgyeopsal gathering" to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to discuss investment in Saemangeum, according to the transition committee for the 9th popularly elected Jeonbuk State governor on the 27th. Lee recently sent a personal letter to Nvidia's U.S. headquarters and the head of Nvidia Korea. Earlier, on the 8th, CEO Jensen Huang visited Korea and mentioned Saemangeum as a potential investment opportunity. In the letter, Lee described Saemangeum as a "blank slate (CleanSlate)" with virtually no regulations, offering "zero friction, infinite scalability, and overwhelming speed." He also cited "clean energy," "abundant water supply," and a "bold regulatory sandbox," comparing it to Arizona in the United States and Oxagon in Saudi Arabia. Lee stated, "Let's set aside stiff protocols and tedious presentations and share samgyeopsal in a relaxed setting," adding, "I want to discuss the next 100 years of Saemangeum and Nvidia." He expressed confidence that a blueprint to make Saemangeum Nvidia's "global AI valley" would begin there, pledging to mobilize all capabilities for world-class corporations like Nvidia to set up shop in Saemangeum.
