Alibaba Group Holding (BABA) has introduced its first family of artificial intelligence models designed specifically for robotic applications, including the Qwen-Robot Suite, which helps robots perceive surroundings, respond to instructions, and complete tasks in changing environments. The suite consists of three systems: Qwen-RobotManip, Qwen-RobotNav, and Qwen-RobotWorld. Despite this AI push into robotics, Alibaba stock traded over 2% lower in Tuesday’s premarket, and the stock has plunged 23% year-to-date. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment remained in ‘neutral’ territory with a 170% increase in message volume over 24 hours. Alibaba has been ramping up its transformation into an AI infrastructure player, committing billions of dollars to cloud computing, semiconductor development, and AI model deployment, but mounting regulatory and competitive pressures have dampened investors’ optimism.
