Qatar’s Ooredoo Group is leading a multi-billion-dollar investment to build a dedicated AI compute and neocloud platform in Indonesia, with backing from Nvidia, Nokia and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH). The platform, known as Zankore, aims to contract 1 gigawatt (GW) of AI capacity over the next three years, powered by Nvidia’s latest technology. It has already secured blue-chip customers for around 200 MW of AI capacity planned for the first half of 2027. As a founding shareholder and lead investor, with a 49% share in Zankore, Ooredoo Group is initially committing $800 million over the next five years. The group is majority-owned by the Qatari government but listed and independently managed; it operates in nine markets across MENA and Southeast Asia, serving nearly 150 million customers. Collectively, the shareholders are making a multi-billion-dollar commitment, with Zankore’s initial 200 MW of AI capacity funded through equity and debt. The venture is forecast to generate around $13 billion in revenue and $9 billion in cumulative EBITDA over five years, with a proportionate Ebitda contribution to Ooredoo Group of around $600 million.
