Former lead writer for Rideshare Stimulator, Stella Sacco, shared on Bluesky that she was replaced with ChatGPT midway through development of the game, and that all passenger voices were AI generated. Saber Interactive, the developer, has not responded yet. Sacco explained that management wanted to use AI because “gamers love new tech.” The passenger dialogues are a core component of the game, which is a taxi driving game featuring “quirky passengers” with unique stories that are “either captivating, hilarious, or just plain weird.” The announcement trailer shows conversations between the driver and passenger. The game does not have a release date yet but is scheduled to launch sometime this year. Saber has not disclosed the use of AI at the time of publishing.
