AWS Korea principal solutions architect Park Hye-young held a press briefing on Aug. 12 at the AWS Korea office in Centerfield in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, to introduce Amazon Quick, AWS's AI work assistant for corporations. Park said office workers spend an average of 40 hours a month moving between applications, and Amazon Quick bundles more than 40 work apps, including Outlook, Google Gmail, Salesforce, Inc., and Slack, to save time. Amazon Quick launched in Oct. last year and in June evolved into an "autonomous agent" that continuously performs tasks in the background when given natural-language instructions. It can summarize overnight developments by morning or draft reply emails, and can run automatically at a set time even if the laptop is closed. Park compared competitors, saying Microsoft 365 Copilot is powerful within MS365 but requires switching apps for external apps like Salesforce or Slack, while Anthropic Claude CoWork is powerful for personal use but weak at team-level data sharing. Amazon Quick is not tied to a particular app and can expand from personal to organization-wide use, with a "knowledge graph" that remembers work context, including who did what even three months ago. According to AWS, 200,000 people inside Amazon used Amazon Quick for six months, automating more than 300,000 tasks, and a three-hour report-writing task can be handled in five minutes with a single line of natural language.
