On August 11, Daimon Robotics, incubated at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, announced the completion of a strategic funding round worth hundreds of millions of yuan, led by Ant Group, with existing shareholders also increasing their stakes. This marks Ant Group's first foray into the tactile sensing sub-sector of the embodied intelligence track. Headquartered in Shenzhen, Daimon Robotics began operations in 2023, building a full-stack physical AI capability system integrating tactile perception, data, and models. In 2024, it introduced a Vision-Touch-Language-Action (VTLA) end-to-end model approach. The company has achieved shipments of tens of thousands of vision-tactile sensors, serving over 200 clients globally, including more than 50 overseas customers. Its clients include OpenAI, Figure, BMW, Google DeepMind, Physical Intelligence, Skild AI, Meta, and the National University of Singapore (NUS). Daimon Robotics has entered the supply chains of Inovance Technology and Tesla's supply chain partners. It has built what it claims is the world's largest full-modal physical world dataset incorporating tactile data, named Daimon-Infinity, which has accumulated hundreds of thousands of hours of full-modal physical world operational data, with plans to expand to millions of hours within the year. Its investors include China Merchants Venture Capital, Legend Capital, Inovance Investment, China Mobile (0941.HK), and China Telecom (0728
