Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung have joined the advisory board of Silicon Valley & the World, a global AI leadership event organized by U.S. digital news startup Semafor. The inaugural gathering will debut in Silicon Valley in November, bringing together about 350 AI innovators, global business leaders and policymakers. The event's co-chairs are Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang; Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella; AMD President and CEO Lisa Su; Alphabet and Google President and Chief Investment Officer Ruth Porat; and Iconiq Capital founder Divesh Makan. The advisory board also includes Amazon President and CEO Andy Jassy, ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet, Sony Group President and CEO Hiroki Totoki, Anthropic President Daniela Amodei, Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser, former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. Industry observers expect the appointments to strengthen Samsung and Hyundai Motor Group's global AI networks and create new opportunities for next-generation technology partnerships.
