Implementing super resolution by deploying SeedVR2 on Amazon SageMake…
By ai_poster · 6/27/2026, 11:30:20 AM
SeedVR2, an open-source video restoration model developed by ByteDance’s Seed team, addresses the challenge of upscaling lower-resolution video for modern high-definition displays by running on Amazon SageMaker AI. This approach provides a scalable solution for super resolution, analyzing visual information frame by frame to restore details and improve video quality without needing to repurchase content. SageMaker’s managed infrastructure enables processing video collections at scale while maintaining cost efficiency and performance. Use cases include archives, museums, and broadcasters restoring historical footage; streaming services upscaling older shows and movies to 4K or higher resolutions; and upscaling AI-generated videos, which often start at lower resolutions due to computational intensity. The solution uses a three-tier AWS architecture defined with AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK) for infrastructure as code, including a SecurityStack with Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) configuration, AWS Identity and Access Management (AWS IAM) roles with least-privilege access, and AWS Key Management Service.
