Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang expanded AI alliances in Japan during a visit on July 15, attending a 30th anniversary event celebrating Nvidia's collaboration with Sega in Akihabara, Tokyo, before moving to a nearby izakaya near Kanda Station for a dinner with officials from Japanese supply chain companies. The 'skewer gathering' was interpreted as an extension of the 'dining diplomacy' Huang demonstrated in Korea and Taiwan. During his prior visit to Korea, he held discussions with Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, and Hyundai Motor, and met with SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, and Naver Chairman Lee Hae-jin. At the Sega event, when asked about SK hynix’s listing of American Depositary Receipts on Nasdaq, Huang said, "It's incredibly successful" and expressed he was "very pleased." As of the close of local trading on July 14, SK hynix ADR had soared by 27.29%. Huang described his current visit to Japan as "the moment when the curtain rises for Japanese A."
