Cursor, the AI coding startup recently acquired by SpaceX, has launched its first native iOS app for AI-assisted software development, now available in public beta for iPhone and iPad. The app, announced by San Francisco-based Anysphere, allows developers to initiate, manage, and review coding tasks remotely from mobile devices, reducing reliance on desktop setups. This iOS release follows SpaceX’s acquisition of Cursor earlier this month in a reported $60 billion all-stock deal, intended for integration under its xAI subsidiary. The mobile app enables cloud-based AI agent deployment, monitoring, and remote control, with features including voice input, real-time updates, and pull request review. Developers can select a repository, choose an AI model, describe coding tasks, and use slash commands. A Remote Control feature allows continued interaction with agents running on computers, and an option keeps computers awake. Live Activities on the iPhone lock screen provide progress updates, and push notifications alert users when tasks are completed or require input. Users can inspect code changes, screenshots, logs, and demos before approving or merging pull requests.
