Perplexity’s annualised revenue rose from below US$250m in January 2026 to above US$750m by August, according to The Information, after the February launch of Computer, a cloud agent that orchestrates 19 AI models to research, write and code on a user’s behalf. Revenue reportedly jumped 50% in the month after launch, and NVIDIA is said to be weighing a new round that would value the company at more than US$30bn. Perplexity was founded in August 2022 in San Francisco by Aravind Srinivas, Denis Yarats, Johnny Ho and Andy Konwinski. Monthly active users on iOS and Android rose from 26.2 million in August 2025 to 37.9 million in February 2026, and the company was valued at US$20bn after a US$200m raise in September 2025. The Financial Times reported annual recurring revenue of US$450m by March. Perplexity Enterprise is used by PayPal, where more than 3,700 employees run 74,000 queries a week, and by Ramp, which reports a 47% average productivity gain across its go-to-market teams. A three-year US$750m Microsoft Azure agreement was signed in January 2026, while AWS remains the preferred cloud provider.
