xAI's Grok Bot Wants Your Passwords: The AI Agent That Logs Into Your…

Elon Musk’s xAI has released Grok Bot in early beta, an AI agent that runs on its own cloud computer and signs into a user’s existing tools with their credentials to finish multi-step jobs without supervision. The announcement landed on 11 August. Each Bot gets its own cloud computer, does not run on the user’s laptop, and tasks continue when the machine is shut. It needs no APIs or connectors, instead looking at the screen, moving a pointer, and typing into fields as a person would, allowing it to operate any tool a human can. Bots can coordinate with each other, working on different parts of one project while sharing context and passing assignments between themselves. There is no workflow builder; users message a Bot like texting a colleague, and it can learn by demonstration, saving a task as a reusable routine with later corrections shaping similar work. Access is available to SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams Premium subscribers on Mac, iOS, Windows, and Linux, with Android to follow, and an enterprise waitlist exists. xAI has been running these internally before release, with examples including a sales Bot that researches accounts overnight, scores contacts for intent, drafts emails and LinkedIn messages in each seller’s voice, and leaves a queue of personalised drafts awaiting approval.
