Iowa City police arrested Sharetta Jamison, accused of brandishing a BB gun at two people arguing with her daughter at Grant Wood Elementary. Jamison is charged with two counts of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. The incident occurred around 7:12 p.m. on March 31. According to a criminal complaint, Jamison’s daughter was in a fight and called Jamison, who drove to the school. Victims say she pulled a Glock-style handgun from her trunk and brandished it. Jamison told officers she went to the school with a toy gun to break up the fight. Her daughter told officers that “everyone thought [the gun] was real.” Detectives found a replica Glock BB handgun when they searched Jamison’s home.
