KT has built a research-specialized generative AI platform by integrating all data from Amorepacific’s R&I Center (Research and Innovation Center). KT announced on July 28 that through the “Data Highway” project pursued with Amorepacific, it converted research and development data accumulated over 70 years by Amorepacific’s R&I Center into a format usable by AI and developed the research-specialized generative AI service “AI Assistant Lemon (LEMON·Lab Efficiency Mode ON).” Since establishing its cosmetics research lab in 1954, Amorepacific has accumulated data including raw material information, formulation data, research reports, patents, and papers, but the data was dispersed across multiple systems. To address this, KT and Amorepacific constructed an “AI Data Hub” from last year, integrating and standardizing millions of structured and unstructured data points. Based on this, they developed Lemon, a large language model (LLM) service dedicated to researchers, who can use it to search and analyze materials for R&D, production, quality control, and regulatory compliance. The two companies plan to continuously expand AI-accessible data and foster a research environment utilizing various AI services and AI agents.
