At the administrative audit of the Busan City Urban Spatial Planning Office held in the Construction and Transportation Committee chamber during the 341st regular session, Councilor Lee Sang-uk (People Power Party·Dong-gu 1) proposed using an AI underwater robot to boost tourism at Bukhang Waterside Park, suggesting an AI underwater robot resembling the shark "Bukang-i" be deployed into the artificial waterway. Lee said a cumulative 1.7 million visitors came to Bukhang Waterside Park because of Bukang-i, but after Bukang-i left it became quiet again, and said that if an AI underwater robot looking exactly like Bukang-i were put into the artificial waterway, it could provide a new attraction for residents and tourists. Lim Kyung-mo, head of Busan City's Urban Spatial Planning Office, said, "We will look into it." Bukang-i was first spotted in the waterway at Bukhang Waterside Park on Sept. 18 and stayed for 34 days until Oct. 21, when authorities guided it out to the open sea and it left the park's waterway; during that period, the number of residents who visited Bukhang Waterside Park to see Bukang-i surpassed 1.6 million. The third offshore guidance operation is underway to return the shark, which has stayed for over a month, to the sea at the artificial waterway in Bukhang Waterside Park, Dong-gu, Busan.
